Elian and David Zach-Shemesh are certified sound practitioners, who received their formal training at New York Open Center under the guidance of world-renowned sound researcher, practitioners, and ethnomusicologist, Alexandre Tannous. Stephen Ross, M.D. is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the New York University (NYU) School of Medicine.
Dr. Ross researches the therapeutic application of hallucinogen treatment models to treat psychiatric and addictive disorders. He is an expert in psycho-oncology and is studying novel pharmacologic-psychosocial approaches to treating psychological distress associated with advanced or terminal cancer. He is the Principal Investigator (PI) of the NYU Psilocybin Cancer Project (a recently completed FDA phase II RCT studying the efficacy of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy in patients with life-threatening cancer and psychological/existential distress), site PI of MAPS funded phase III trials of MDMA assisted psychotherapy for PTSD, PI of a controlled trial administering psilocybin to religious professionals, and co-PI of a controlled trial assessing psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy in patients with alcoholism. Dr. Ross receives his research funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the NYU School of Medicine, the Heffter Research Institute, and the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS).

Alexandre Tannous has been active as a musician, educator, composer, and as an ethnomusicologist. He holds a Bachelor of Music with a double major in Music Theory and Composition, and a Master of Arts degree in Music Education from Columbia University Teachers College. As a recipient of the Mellon Fellowship he also earned a Master of Arts and a Master of Philosophy degrees in Ethnomusicology from Columbia University where he was enrolled in the PH.D. program. He has taught various music courses at the same institution.
Alexandre is a frequent guest-lecturer in major institutions such as Georgetown University, Princeton University, Columbia University, NYU, and in museums such as the American Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of New York, the Brooklyn Museum, the Rubin Museum, and the Museum of the City of New York. He continues to do research on sound, currently works as a sound therapist, teaches this practice, and lectures about sound.
Athena’s yoga journey began about 8 years ago, and since then her practice helped her grow stronger, more flexible and become mindful, on and off the mat.
She’s completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certificate at one of New York’s most sought after Yoga Institutes – Yoga To The People. Prior to that, she completed her Kids Teacher Training program at NY’s Karma Kids Yoga along with several Hatha workshops with Swami Asokananda at Integral Yoga Institute. Continued her journey traveling through India studying Tantra text in Varanasi and participating Iyengar workshops in Rishikesh.
In her classes, Athena focuses on strengthening the body and mind while opening and connecting the chakras. She’s developed an authentic teaching style that combines different asanas and breathing techniques with meditation that encourages growth of physical and spiritual self.
Nadav Wilf considers himself a spiritual entrepreneur. He has built and sold 2 startups in the online advertising space. After his last sale, he realized he wasn’t fulfilled which took him on a journey to find his passion, in what he calls a Passion Pivot. He chose to focus his time contributing to others. He joined Peter Diamandis, founder of the XPRIZE Foundation, as Chief Possibility Officer and partner in HeroX, crowdsourcing solutions to problems for the betterment of humanity.
