Our art-car is a large deer called the MAXA XAMAN. MAXA means, “blue deer” in Huichol, and represents the strength and compassion we follow. Xaman means Shaman and refers to our spiritual guide, informing us how to create this event. The hunters of our camp, representing air, fire, water and earth, will roam the playa, and chase MAXA XAMAN while shooting their arrows. Some arrows will miss while others will hit precious shimmering blue emeralds. In camp we share these emeralds. We all share the knowledge, the insights, the laughter, and the new people we’ve met on the Playa.
